Same Day Dentures Repairs

How can dentures become damaged?

The main way a denture is damaged is by dropping it on to a hard surface such as the floor or sink. You can help prevent this by inserting/removing the denture over a towel or a sink filled with water for example.

Dentures can also become weakened and potentially break if they no longer fit well due to gum shrinkage and changes in the shape of the mouth.

Can they be repaired?

Our dental technicians can repair cracked or fractured dentures, insert strengtheners into dentures, repair chips in the artificial teeth and replace teeth that have fallen off.

In some cases where there have been repeated repairs done to an existing denture, you may be advised to have a new denture made instead of having it repaired again. This is because dentures that have had teeth added or fractured multiple times may not fit as well as they should and are generally not as comfortable to wear.

What should you do if your denture breaks?

Keep all the broken pieces together. Don’t use super glue or try and repair the denture yourself.  This may offer a quick solution but it rarely lasts that long. It may end up resulting in further damage, make your denture impossible to repair again and make it uncomfortable to wear. It is always advisable to have your denture repaired  by a qualified dental technician who has the correct knowledge and equipment to do a good job.

Same Day Repairs

Dentures can normally be repaired the same day in our onsite laboratory unless the fracture is very complicated.

Please note same day repairs are dependent on the dental laboratory availability and the time you are able to drop off your dentures. We recommend you contact us as early in the day as possible.

Please note that it may be necessary for us to take an impression of your mouth with the denture in place prior to repair and that some repairs may require an adjustment when collected.

Testimonials

I would like to convey my thanks to Caroline, Sam, Chrissy and David for the implant work carried out this morning, Saturday 29th January at the Stratford dental health centre. It is very comforting to know, from a customer’s perspective, that one is surrounded by such a high level of expertise working together to ensure top quality treatment and satisfaction. I was also impressed by the fact a Practice Partner was present. Thank you all once again for your involvement.
